So Why Do Women Have Sex? - Roseline Nya

I’m beginning to think that women enjoy playing the victim when it comes to their sexual interactions with men. ‘Oh, he lured me into having sex with him’, one says. ‘Oh, he said if I do it, he will do that’, another says. ‘Oh, he said he loves me’, yet another says’. I’m tired of hearing all these excuses from women! They sound childish and silly to me. I’ve only met a few women who have alluded to the fact that they have sex because they want to, and I admire them for it. But to the greater part of the population, why don’t you have sex because you want to and not because a man asked you to?”

He was a cute stranger I met at a Lounge on the day I embarked on a mission to understand men’s perspectives on the science of one night stand, which generally refers to a single string-less sex encounter.

The move itself was impelled by **Rachel – a young woman who had cried foul to us, after a man she had only just met talked her into having sex with him, there and then, only to walk away, change his phone number and never contact her.

Who was this man who could convince a girl he had only just met to have sex with him? What antics did he employ? What did he say to her, exactly? What did he offer her? These were some of the questions we sought answers to. Yet, as Rachel’s words built her story, our experienced nostrils caught a whiff of a one-night stand. But the wide-eyed Rachel had been dazzled to believe that her love had finally found her.

An investigation was initiated. How do women save themselves from falling into the trap of deceptive, one-night-stand-seeking charmers? With what do women identify them by? We set out to answer.

Different men with mad love for the women in their lives spoke differently but all pointed to the fact that outwardly, there was no marked difference between a man who is solely out to hump once and dump, and a man who is genuinely interested in getting to know a woman. They said either of the two motives required “influencing” the subject’s emotions toward welcoming one and accepting all that one comes with. Therefore, a woman wouldn’t know unless she’s told what is in the heart or “allowed” to study the relationship over a considerably long period.

That reinforced our support for holding off on sex until you are sure of his intentions.

Then I spoke with the cute stranger and he made that statement. His words rang loudly in my ears. They held seeds of truth in them. Of course it is my place to defend the womenfolk, since I am a woman, and defend I did. But all I said did not reduce the weight of his question, “Why don’t you have sex because you want to and not because he asked you to?” Or, in my own words, “Why don’t you have sex because you are horny or have the hots for the guy and not because of what he said, does or own?”

That way you will not feel exploited if the relationship leads nowhere.

Understandably, the fact that women’s sexuality is constantly under the biased scrutiny of the society makes forming “virtuosity” every woman’s job; because even after much clarification has been given on the subject, most people, including women, still see as contemptible, she who has sexual needs and in any manner or form pursue after satisfying them.

We’re even told that women need emotional connection to desire sex but that isn’t entirely true, because different women have different levels of sexual drive and different levels of sexual freedom, which is why some women are passive about sex, while some are very active in the confines of a serious relationship, while, yet, some others have no qualms about casual sex; even one night stands, which some others are crying to be victims of.

So, to all the Rachels out there, next time you want to have consensual sex with a man, do it because you’re horny, keen, and curious to explore your sexuality. Not because you hope or think that the sex will lead to anything other than an orgasm.

And if that man happens to be a stranger you just met, use protection, but I don’t have ANY advice on how to fight off an axe-wielding, blood-thirsty cannibal; if a one night stand turns out to be one.

Celebrities have deviated from what they do into what will improve their brand. A couple years back, a musician would get promoted through his/her music excellence but of recent, i think going naked is now the excellence point for them. (Don't violate your privacy just to get known). I still recall back when seeing a naked woman or man was irritating to the sight. Then girls would take their bath outside and all the boys would find somewhere to hide their faces. Is it still so?

We tend to follow what these anxious stars are doing to make money. It never really got nasty to me until i saw a picture of Kim Kardashian (a married woman with kids) showing of her breast and her husband just sitting and looking. I was wondering if nature and laws have changed, i was wondering if the right thing has now turned into the bad while the bad into right. It seems that we have forgotten that whatever goes up must surely come down and the further it goes the faster the speed of return.

Not just the white get involved in this, a rapper in Nigeria did it also. Shared some naked pictures on his social profile and got attention of bloggers including Linda Ikeji. How do we manage to look in the mirror and take our self a shot without clothes. Doesn't it make us fill exposed and stupid?. In Nigeria we have various religions, this made me wonder if any of the religions support it. I went into the Bible and search for any information about you going naked and i also asked colleagues who happen to be Muslims and none of them gave me a positive feedback.

So where is this idea coming from. Education enlightens us on being wise and conscious about everything we do. Back then when Nigerians lacked education and was ignorant about everything, we ended up as captives to co-humans. But that era is over, every average Nigerian can identify what is good from bad and what is wrong from right. So why do we still let this unhealthy western civilization affect our culture.

A girl who goes naked on social media, just as one did in the early hours of today, will definitely get quite a number of likes from friends, and also a few comments but dear, compare your worth to the value of the likes and comments? What do you gain, maybe its some bunch of losers calling you all sort of names while others are busy re-tweeting and sharing. Don't be the fraudster that play a trick on your own destiny.

This is my take on Going Naked On Social Media. Its ugly, irritating and immoral regardless of whosoever is involved. You might be a celebrated star, a fashion model or social media user. Prostitution is prostitution and no matter the class, so also are you being stupid no matter who you are.

Something Out Of Nothing

Hello dear!! How are you today? Hope you ate and rested before coming online because what i have for you today will take a lot of your time and understanding but be sure to gain a lot from it. It's motivation came from nothing and that is why it's titled Something Out Of Nothing.

While reading this article composed of various words brought together to give one specific meaning, i would like you to know a fact that "What you know is centered around what your have seen or en counted, or heard" and also that "everyone has it's own meaning of one word". So should in case you find understanding this article hard, just try to consume it the way it comes to you.

Have you ever wondered where past discoverers got there idea of elements and atoms from? Because if you do, curiosity should by now be part of your breathing. Elements where created out of nothing, the sense till date that entails the discovering of element can only be explained in a brief, by the text books. Nevertheless, only the past scientists can actually say where this sense came from.

On a theory by life, you only get wiser by learning from the little signs that appeals. Taking steps forward entails knowing where you came from. Nigerians has really made the surface nature of success turn round as many uneducated youths who on a normal setting won't get a job, now turns out to be the entrepreneurs of the biggest companies in the country while the graduates stay at home or even become jobless.

History made it today, as a governor of a state in Nigeria is said not to have his primary school certificate but though laws held trials against it, that doesn't stop him from ruling. Leadership is a skill that is born into men and attending the best university doesn't develop that skill in you. Your ascent and linguistic might be top class but your sense of taught is centered around what is happening and what happened. 

So we spend about 6-years at the university and read all our life, just to come out as a Civil engineer, when the owners of the biggest construction companies are owned by uneducated individuals who never got a chance to attend neither secondary or university. I am not discouraging education because education is one important thing we must do but it doesn't really decide our fate.

Something out of Nothing, a theory written by great heroes. Jesus Christ got for himself 12 disciples in a city where sin was the call of the day, Mathew Okpebholo (a man who wasn't so privileged to attend school bodies) established a construction company (Ray Royal Construction Company) in the multitude of graduates, Nelson Mandela stood for freedom and won at a time where slavery was legal.

This is what believing in yourself can do. Your life success doesn't depend on what people say about you, or what the school rated you  or how social media has made you devote to rather life success is just defined in a few lines. 'Making Something Out Of Nothing".

Uju Chukwu: Your Mind is a Power Tool

The thoughts in your head are a reflection of what your mouth says. How powerful can our thoughts be? Very very powerful. Has it ever happened that you thought of something, without having the intention of seeing it happen and the next minute you see it happen? Sometimes it might not be as fast as a minute; you might have gone for hours and the next thing you see, it happens. Most times, people even mistake it for a dejavu, but then it is just your thoughts.

So if your thoughts can be this powerful, what then are we supposed to do? It’s pretty simple, guard them right.

We need to think positive at all times. How does that work? It is a conscious effort. I will list 2 major points of the conscious effort we have to make:

By minding the things you let get into your head: Everybody has something to say, (the good, the bad, the ugly and the worse) but not everything everyone has to say is for you. You do not necessarily have to open up your mind to digest everything or every word that passes because some are for you and some are for others. Sometimes you intentionally avoid being in the conversation.

I read a billboard one day and I noticed that the pastor of my church was going to visit a different church. I had been to that church and I did not really like it there, and then I saw that the pastor of my church was going there. A few of my friends said, “now you have to be there because your pastor is there” I replied, “I would not be there because my pastor is going to be there. That which I do not like about the church might just automatically get at me even when my pastor is speaking. So to avoid myself the power of negative thoughts I chose to avoid going because the program he is going to attend will be for him to speak the word for someone in that congregation and definitely not for me.”

There was nothing was obviously stopping me, but was it going to be my word? Not so sure of that.
So it is a conscious effort for us to mind the things we allow to get into our head. Sometimes, you play deaf or better still avoid it completely.

Mind the things we see: The things we look at or study affect how we think and automatically affect how we speak. Our minds get to store images faster than even words. Just like a child, the ability of an image to affect our thought is about 75%. However, what differentiates an adult from a child is the ability of owning up and deciding not to look in that direction – unlike a child where you have to help them watch what they see. Not every book, article or pictures is for our consumption; most times we need to take in things that enlighten us and energize us to move on. Imagine having to watch the news every day and you keep seeing people dying in various countries, the ability for you not to live in fear will be very low.

I actually lost the love for travelling after hearing consecutively on the news the number of plane crashes reported. But does that mean that people do not fly and land safely? The image I have seen and that which I have heard, I let it sink in. Now I try to avoid the TV as much as I can.
If you think of a big future, why not live in that light and look for images that portray same. Rather than watch the TV, I would rather go on YouTube and watch Awesomeness fest. It is an image I am seeing but a different one.

How do we effectively work on our mind?

We should constantly apply the rule of meditation. Learn to meditate. It is the best form of clearing our minds and our thoughts. Maybe you have let in the wrong things; with effective meditation, you have the ability to sieve your thoughts.

Think before you speak, not the other way round. Think first put your words together and then let them out. Consider if the words you speak will make or mar you. Will they make people see you as someone else and will your words make a difference in the lives of those around you in a positive way or cause destruction? These are factors we need to consider.

Learn to put your thoughts first before your words.

Busola Idowu: My Money… Our Money

I visited my friend Marilyn recently and while I was there, she received a package from a popular online vendor. She hurriedly discharged the dispatch rider, removed the packaging and promptly buried the wrapper deep within the garbage bag. Her reason was that she did not want her husband to return home to meet any residue of a new purchase in the house. She had recently harassed and begged him for money to buy some supposed necessaries including money to make her hair, on the pretext that she was very (very) broke. Now, this allegedly insolvent madam was making online purchases running into thousands of Naira.

She reminded me of Isanah, my colleague to whom I had sold a lovely party dress some months before. After paying me, she immediately removed the tag and said she was going to hide the dress underneath the clothes in her cupboard for a while before she decides to wear it. If her husband asks, she would claim to have had it for months prior to its appearance and afterall, by that time, it would be sufficiently reeking of house-odour. Hmmmn…

These might not be strange to a lot of people. Both ladies were intending to outsmart their husbands as to their financial capacities, claiming not to have cash at hand so as to obtain money from their spouses. The philosophy behind this in a spousal relationship is ‘my money is my money while his money is our money’. This simply posits that it is preferable to spend ‘his’ money on just about anything conceivable but then pretend to be broke and refuse to spend ‘her’ own money except on things that benefit her personally. She can, thereafter, choose to spend her own money in his absence as she pleases. Some women take it an extra mile by refusing to buy household items which are for the entire family’s benefit or even worse, decline to buy their baby’s necessaries because they believe such expenditure is solely meant for the husband’s income. Her own money is assigned to personal needs, clothes, make-up, hair and such other stuff.

Women usually have different reasons why they choose to be stingy with their money and even information on how such money is spent. Some of it arise from the patriarchal belief that a man is the head of the home and as such should be responsible for buying the essentials not just for his wife but also the children. The wife is the helpmeet who is only to extend financial help at irregular intervals and at her own discretion. Today’s economy is however not favourably inclined to this system and in a dual-income household, both parties are required to pitch in to ensure the smooth running of the home. Issues arise when one party the husband is not as financially prudent as hoped or is living above their incomes and in a bid to streamline same, the wife may resort to hiding earnings and expenditure so she can have a semblance of financial independence.

As much as it is wise and prudent to have personal and private income as a wife and mother, it is also advisable in the interest of a smooth running marriage to be somewhat open with finances. The idea of hiding from a spouse to make purchases gives the impression of dishonesty. It is important to reach an acceptable compromise which promotes spousal unity as well as financial freedom to expend resources in a liberal and balanced manner.

Is That Business Right For You?.

One of the things I am always curious about when I meet a business owner is how they chose the business they are currently doing. Some of the responses I usually get are;

1. I was passionate about this and decided to make it a business.
2. I saw a market opportunity and jumped at it.
3. I wanted to make loads of money and someone told me this business would make me money!

Each of these responses has their advantages and disadvantages.

Passion: 

Doing something you are passionate about gives you the required fuel to stick to it for the long haul because you are most likely doing something you would do for free whether you get paid or not. The down side to starting a business based on passion alone is that it might not have a viable market opportunity and you might end up getting frustrated.

Market opportunity: 

when you start a business because you saw a market opportunity, you are most likely going to make money early especially if you ride the wave of the opportunity very well. The down side to starting a business only because of a market opportunity is that others are most likely going to jump on board also especially if the barrier of entry is low. And when supply becomes more than demand, the opportunity disappears and it becomes a buyers’ market. I have seen people get stuck with excess stock which they purchased to take advantage of a market opportunity that eventually disappeared.

Making Money: 

This is one of the most tempting reasons why I see people start certain businesses they don’t know much or even anything about. Someone comes to you and says; ‘I heard about so and so opportunity and you would make a lot of money from it’. The problem with this is that most people don’t do much research to verify if you would indeed make money and they excitedly jump on the business opportunity. It is possible that the opportunity would make you a lot of money, but it would also most likely take a lot of hard work and effort to begin to yield results. So imagine it is something you don’t really care about and you just went into for the money?  You would most likely be frustrated before you start seeing the money.

So how do you know which business is right for you? You have to find what is called your ‘business sweet spot’. This is the intersection between what you like doing, what you are good at doing and what others would pay you to do.

Stories upon stories upon stories are told of how laughter is birthed through a grave of defeat-of how songs spring forth from a well of misery. But some people struggle with this revelation of another’s destiny. Some people find it hard to believe-could that truly happen to me? They whisper these thoughts uncertainly.

 

I understand that small voice-I have spoken with it before. It sits and wonders and then turns around and faces you with fears made in monstrous contours-of possibilities that cannot exist, of paths that you probably should not cross because they hold traps of treacherous gutters that hold sewers of defeat. But listen to me: there is more to you than you presently see-yes, there is more to your destiny.

 

I need you to understand-as a woman that has faced the fear of tragedy, as one that has stared into the eyes of death’s hungry painful gaze of lost promises-there is more than you can presently see.

Your path has not wounded here to defeat your previous laughter and determined instincts.

I know it hurts, whether it be death to relationships, friendships or even more-yes, the pain is very sore. I can understand that feeling quite well so listen to someone who has been there before.

You have more to offer than you could possibly imagine. There is a pathway before you-that only you have the key to unlock the treasure it holds. There is a secret within you that only your mouth can speak because only your ears have been gifted with the sound of its melody.

 

How do I hear it ,you may ask me? Well, it sounds a bit like your destiny but it carries the pain of past experiences tendered softly into the sweet sorrowful sounds of a happy melody but at the same time it is weighed heavily with the bitter taste of regret but still manages to produce a heavy projection of prospects. This is the beautiful sound it makes; this is the form in which it enables you to create: dreams, and visions into realities.

 

This is how it sounds-its mingled with a tingle of all your past sounds. Mixed up in a jingle of fears, faith and a feisty determination to face the future. That is the joyous sound it makes in your ears-if only you would stop staring at regret and fearing the many doors you now look into as possible paths for future endeavors.

 

Take this moment-to listen to the voice of your heart. Converse with your soul and see what thoughts it has to share with your words-watch how it changes your perspective into a more powerful form.

You see, what happens with people unfortunately is they fall into this dangerous tunnel of defeat and they get lost in the echo it produces as they sink suddenly unto their knees. They pay so much attention to that one powerful wound-you know the sore-the bruise life gives us to hurt our present mood; the sore that changes the landscape of your view. The one that speaks of so much regret and pain and resurrects the past filled with dead promises, a gaze into memory’s face.

 

Yes that sore is the one I speak of-that deep wound has the power to hold one hostage for so long in that deep pit of pain. And they seem to forget-people cross this bridge to meet their destiny again. Its like all life’s forces conspire to push you towards the right path and in that determination to make you face your future task, a mistake is made in the form of regrets and losses and faded faces and this is where the ditch of doubt is twisted into a lifetime of regret and riddled with the disease of past debts.

People fail to leave that ditch behind-they do not notice the rope that dangles softly to the side. You know the rope; right

 

The one that hangs loosely in the dark beside that ditch you have sunk into-that hole in your heart-there is a rope of hope that moves so softly-like a breeze-a lot of people perceive its presence but not many see-you see, because they have been blinded by defeat.

 

It dangles so softly-and it has enormous power in the swish it makes as it swings from one side to another-silently it calls for your hands to make haste. I encourage you take it-you know, those moments when hope speaks that all is not lost, keep holding on, you will come out of this deep defeat. I need you to hold that rope, and use it to push ahead-hold it for dear life-literally it is the only way out of your present fear of death-death to your dreams, your stories, and even your destiny.

 

Hold that rope of hope and use it to push forward and you will come out and face the path ahead. Because the magical thing about that rope is when you hold it close, it speaks to your heart and heals the wounds of a dangerous sore and it makes it a strong scar.

It will be a scar from which you speak to people about how to move forward in their dreams because once you join forces with the hands of destiny, you are no longer a prisoner of defeat, you are no longer bound to the well of uncertainty. So hold that rope, please-step out of your present misery-so your purpose may finally be given the breathe it needs to speak.

One very nice thing about football is that you don't just play it nothing, it's unlike other activities. Football today is an occupation for many young stars, its a medium to burn of fats for most heavy bodied individuals, its a play ground for young children all over the world. In schools, on the streets, stadiums, it's all football.

But it appears that this great sport is tiring to everybody. I can barely breathe after playing a football match no matter the time spent in the pitch by me. Its just so wakening but that's not enough reason to stop playing football all you need to do is "what to do after a football match".

It might been said always that you get use to somethings after a lot of pains well lets quite say football is different. Illiteracy & Ignorance; Illiteracy is a burning sword, drilling the life in humans and leaving them as empty vessels. Back then during the slave trade it was illiteracy up till now it's still illiteracy. Education to teenagers has become old fashion. Nobody wants to attend school. Uromi experienced a large number of young once leaving the country without a sound educational background.

I will also include ignorance because many family members have been lost to the bloody rivers of Libya but still Parents sponsor their teenage children to Libya all for money.

I won't fail to mention the most blamed cause for all the problems in the society. Government has played a huge role in ensuring Nigerian's obtain sound education and live well with a paying Job but actually its a revise. Politics has killed the Democracy of the country. When you think about destroying others you forget to claim your's. Lets learn to help each out and forget about who is richer. Wealth is from within.

Abduct  love for education, ignore quick ways to do things. "Patience is the one great path to success". If ever you will be rich and famous you will so take things easy and in the right way. For everything you do in this world, have already been crafted by the Creator.

Death is the end of everything, your struggles, your labor, your everything. "He that looses his soul for the treasures of the world is vanity". So why the horry, spend is no test for success. In one of my blogger guide series first article "How to Become Successful in Blogging" i explained the team to you and also did a lot of reviews to you about having a free blog. (i advice you read it before this one). Today i will be specific with my words and explanations but i promise to make you understand each line so you can choose the best platform that will advance you in blogging.

Follow Your Initiative

At first i didn't consider this as a factor but when i made a reveiw on how i came up with this awesome blog, I realised despite all the credits given to platform by bloggers, your initiative tells whats good for you. It worked for me and could also work for you but if it didn't try reading more articles on this or just follow the credits on various platforms.

Blogging is free and its yours but dear do not forget when opening a blog, its a website designed to serve readers so learn to let your taste suite your readers. Its a good way to build a discussion.

During my early days in blogger i only had a mobile phone and i did everything from there but as i started using laptop, i realized that all my designs where having a funny look on Desktop view.

If you do not have a laptop that should not discourage you from running a blog. As you can use the Cyber Cafe at least once a week to see how your blog is doing great Linda did this at her early days in blogging.

Creative Mind: You can have time in plentiful and have over hundred laptops but without a creative mind you will just be limited to copy and paste which is not good for your blog. Its unhealthy to do things so if you still don't know how to create your own article, don't be frustrated but just take your time and read ebook written by successful bloggers.

It helped me when i was having problem with creating my own articles from nothing. You should do same.
